Bravelands Soundchip Packaging
Client: Candid Litho for Harper
This sound chip packaging piece was used by Harper, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishers, to launch "BraveLands", the first book in a new series by Erin Hunter who also happens to be the #1 NYT bestselling author of the WARRIORS series, with over 20 million copies sold! We worked with our client Candid Litho who supplied us with die-cut sheets. This piece was mailed out to news media, brick & mortar, on-line book distributers and other third-party sales channel partners. Candid Litho and Harper already had the design of the box structure and functionality in mind, and came to us to add sound. The idea was to have a growling soundbite play automatically when the elephant and monkey “doors” were opened. Additionally, there was no time in the schedule to manufacture a custom-configured sound module, so we needed to engineer a solution that could utilize our stock sound module that we keep in inventory in our factory. We were able to modify the box structure while still maintaining the client’s original design and functionality to house one of our stock modules, which is hidden in the elephant door. Further, we modified our stock sound module with a custom fabricated slide switch to accommodate the new design.
